PROP A:

Jail Expansion

PROP B:

Road Building/Maintenance

MAKE HOOD COUNTY SAFER

Vote Yes Stamp.png
Your YES vote will make our county safer it WON'T RAISE TAX RATES

Props A and B will not raise taxes. In fact, Hood County has lowered the tax rate by 40% since 2021. Though the County is a small part of your tax burden, we know you pay enough and our goal is to make your burden lighter. Props A&B will help us keep your taxes low.

Props A and B will not raise taxes. In fact, Hood County just cut the tax rates again. Though the County is a small part of your tax burden, THEY know you pay enough, and THEIR goal is to make your burden lighter. Props A and B will help keep your taxes low.

PROP A

PROP A will stop wasting the $40 million we now spend to send prisoners to other counties due to our current lack of jail space. When you vote YES, you build a jail by 2029.

Prop A.png

BUT BE AWARE

Texas law says a ballot must say this is a “tax increase” on a bond vote. But in our case in Hood County, there is no tax increase because PROP A saves the county $42 million. YOUR VOTE FOR PROP A WILL ACTUALLY LOWER YOUR TAX BURDEN.

PROP B

The proposed projects are on top of the $127 million of improvements coming to US 377 throughout Granbury. Those improvements are anticipated to begin mid-2027.

Not improving these ADDITONAL roads would steal your time and make emergency vehicles unable to get to your location. Because the County carefully watches spending, there is NO tax rate increase. The words on your ballot, due to Texas law, say it is a tax increase. But there is NO tax rate increase in Hood County!

Please vote for PROP B. Your YES VOTE makes our county safer without raising tax rates.

Prop B.png

One of the smallest tax bills you get each year is for Hood County government. The county has lowered the tax rate by 40% since 2021, and will still be debt-free as of next February – an almost unheard-of achievement. When roads must maintained, the Commissioners do it efficiently.

Hood County, City of Granbury, and TXDOT have already funded major improvements to the US 377 to cut congestion. Your vote for Prop B will expand much-needed road improvements across Hood County.

As Hood County grows, our roads must adjust, or we will have backups at every traffic light and intersection. Your vote for Proposition B will build and repair roads to keep traffic moving. Failing to improve these roads would waste your time and could prevent emergency vehicles from reaching you. Because the county continues to carefully watch spending, there is NO tax increase. The words on your ballot, due to Texas law, say it is a tax increase because we borrowed money. However, there is no tax rate increase in Hood County.
